What is TRIGGRCON?
TRIGGRCON is an exclusive, three-day annual firearms industry event held in Wichita, Kansas, across two prime venues: the Century II Expo Center and the Severance Training Center. This high-energy event is a hub for top-tier manufacturers, industry professionals, and firearms enthusiasts. Over the first two days, the exhibitor show provides an excellent platform for manufacturers to display their products and engage with the public, media, and industry influencers.
What makes TRIGGRCON unique is the third day, when the event shifts to the range. Attendees can not only see but also experience the products firsthand in the “See It, Then Shoot It” format. This interactive approach allows key figures like prosumers, influencers, LEO/MIL buyers, and media to get an in-depth look at the latest offerings in the firearms industry.
The Day Before
Our TRIGGRCON experience began with a 6:30 AM departure. After a five-hour drive, we arrived at the venue, ready to set up the RIX Optics and RIX Tactical booth. Once everything was in place, we grabbed lunch at a local historic site and explored a bit of Wichita. By evening, everyone was exhausted, and we headed back to our respective hotels to rest up for an early start on Friday.
TRIGGRCON Day 1 – Media Day
Friday, the first official day of TRIGGRCON, was Media Day. The venue opened at 9 AM, and media representatives had exclusive access to all the booths before the consumer rush. Our booth, C14, was in an ideal spot right across from Sig Sauer and Barrett, giving us a chance to network with some of the biggest names in the industry.
We met with numerous social media influencers, YouTubers, and industry professionals. Our favorite meeting was with Mil-Spec Monkey, who conducted two interviews with our team for his YouTube channel. Josh Cavalier represented RIX Tactical, while Ryan Rogers spoke on behalf of RIX Optics. Afterward, we caught up with Shadow Systems, where one of our new employees used to work.
Although Friday was a slower day in terms of foot traffic, the RIX team stayed busy handing out swag, answering questions, and networking with other businesses in the firearms industry. It was a great start, packed with media coverage and industry connections.
TRIGGRCON Day 2 – Busy, Busy!
Saturday brought an entirely different energy, with a significant increase in attendees. From the moment the doors opened at 9 AM, it was a non-stop day of conversations with customers, giving away our remaining swag, and introducing our thermal products to a wider audience. Many attendees had never experienced these technologies before, so it was exciting to see their reactions.
The second day was a major success, with new connections, valuable feedback, and many new faces stopping by our booth. After the event wrapped up at 5 PM, we packed up and returned to the hotel, feeling energized by the day’s success.
Day 3 – The Range Day Experience
Day three marked the highly anticipated range day. Although our full team couldn’t attend, the two who did, had a fantastic time. They tested a wide variety of firearms from participating companies and demonstrated our thermal and night vision products to a whole new group of industry professionals. Range day provided even more opportunities for hands-on interaction with our products, ensuring that those who missed the convention center had a chance to see what RIX is all about.
Day 4 – A Visit to Joe Bob’s Outfitter
Following TRIGGRCON, two of our employees made the trip to Joe Bob’s Outfitters in Hayes, Kansas. Joe Bob’s is one of our biggest dealers, and we were impressed by their recent expansion of 50,000 square feet during the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 87,000 reviews, Joe Bob’s is a leader in the industry. We received a full tour of their massive warehouse and had a productive conversation about how we can continue to improve as a company. The feedback we gathered was invaluable, and we left with new ideas for future growth.
Looking Ahead
TRIGGRCON was an incredible experience for RIX Optics and RIX Tactical. We showcased our products to a highly engaged audience, expanded our network, and gained insights from both customers and industry leaders.
